In Japan, "Japan Craft Inspection Organization" inspects small crafts less than 20tons gross tonnage.
6. Do you have any systems to make the ship inspection processes more simple and reasonable ?
In Japan,we have type approval and factory approval systems. (see articles 6-2~4)
7. Are there any description that the USCG will accept the results of the test reports, etc. by other testing agencies (including those overseas) than the ship classification societies? Please inform us of the organization/agencies (such as UL)to be accepted,if any.
8. How are the inspections of the radio equipment on bord the ships shared between ABS,USCG and FCC(Federal Communications Commissions)?
9. Have you incorporated ISO 9001〜3 in carrying out ship inspections?
We have not incorporated ISO 9000 yet in carrying out ship inspections in Japan.

1. What laws and regulations prescribe upon registration, measurement and inspection for Panamanian ships ?
In Japan,there are "Ships Law" for registration,"Law on Tonnage Measurements of Ships" for measurement and "Ship Safety Law" which regulate ship's construction and equipment for the safety.
